JUST IN: Zimbabwe among countries projected to experience an increase in fire weather conditions

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has broken down Africa into nine ecological regions with Zimbabwe in the Eastern Southern Africa region which includes South Africa, Lesotho, eSwatini, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and parts of Mozambique.

The region is projected to confront a lot:
– Projected increases in fire weather conditions
– Increases in mean wind speed
– Increase of average tropical cyclone wind speeds and associated heavy precipitation and of the proportion of category 4-5 cyclones
